Here are some fire and smoke damage tips:

DO:

• Limit movement of people in the structure to prevent soot particles from being embedded into upholstery and carpets
• Keep hands clean. Soot on hands can further soil upholstery, walls and belongings
• Turn off HVAC system to help limit soot and smoke from spreading throughout the structure

DON'T:

• Attempt to wash any walls or painted surfaces 
• Clean any electrical appliances
• Turn on ceiling fans
• Wash clothes, rugs, blankets or any other belongings. Improper cleaning can set smoke odor
